WILDLIFE TOURS
What we offer
The West Highlands are famous for some the world’s most spectacular scenery, mountain ranges and coastline and the wildlife is no different. This makes Wild Highland Tours perfect for nature seekers. Guided tours are designed to allow you to see some of Scotland’s most majestic creatures in their natural environment. No one can deny that a Sea Eagle catching a fish is a wondrous sight or a Red Stag roaring is breathtaking. These are common sights in Ardnamurchan and you don’t even need to travel too far from the road to see these outstanding natural wonders.
The wildlife in Ardnamurchan varies from pine martens raiding bird tables at night, to huge eagles circling the forests. If you go further inland, you will find animals like red deer, hen harriers, red foxes and even wild cats if you are lucky! Returning to the coast, you will find it bustling with active otters and a rich variety of birds and on occasion’s dolphins, porpoises, minke whales and basking sharks can be observed.
The abundance of wildlife in Ardnamurchan means that people often flock here to watch it from afar and learn how we affect it in so many different ways. Commonly, guided tours include Deer watching, Eagle watching and an insight into land management including the history of the area’s turbulent past, the enthusiasm and passion of our guides will leave you with a journey to remember – your trip to the wild side.
We offer a range of tours throughout the year in search of some of our most rare and exciting animals, birds and habitats and explore the issues affecting their managements and conservation. If you’d rather discover Ardnamurchan and it’s wildlife at a more personal and gentle pace, then our five day holidays are available from Spring and Summer. You can count on the personal attention from our experienced guides. The advantage of this kind of tour is that you can go where you want and take all the time you need to see the animals and birds. Wildlife watching is an activity that requires patience, calm and quiet – the more time you spend, the greater the rewards!
