Our Principles

Our tours and holidays aim to reconnect people with the natural world and promote the benefits it provides for all. We work closely with local communities, local estates and visitors to promote the wildlife on their doorstep and to increase understanding and promote harmonious interaction.

We endeavor to make our tours sustainable, by using low carbon emissions to the local economy and providing employment opportunities, promoting local wildlife and conservation within a living landscape.

Deer

Fay Rowantree

Fay leads all of our Daytime Tours.  A former police officer, Fay was also involved in forest management with the Forestry Commission.  With strong family connections to the area, her enthusiasm for the areas history and ecology provides visitors with a memorable tour.

Fay is also involved with the administration of the business, she ensures West Highland Tours fulfil client expectations wherever possible. Fay is there to help with your enquiries to ensure you receive a spectacular wildlife experience.

Niall Rowantree

Niall has many years experience of wildlife management. Niall was a former Chief Ranger with the Forestry Commission and past board member of the Deer Commission for Scotland and Scottish Natural Heritage’s Transitional Deer Panel member.

Having organised wildlife watching trips throughout the highlands and beyond for many years, he knows all the best places to look and the right times to be there for your wildlife experience.

As a professional wildlife manager, Niall possesses and extensive knowledge of the Highlands and it’s environmental issues.  His special interests are Deer, Wildcats and habitat management. Even with many years experience, Niall still finds himself fascinated and captivated by all of the wildlife that is around us.

We can now offer accommodation to our guests at The Ardnamurchan Bunkhouse

Unlike other bunkhouses, we offer 8 en-suite rooms either single, twin or family rooms and are perfect for outdoor enthusiasts and wildlife watchers who crave a few home comforts.

The Ardnamurchan Bunkhouse makes the most of this remarkable location and providing the perfect base for any outdoor adventure.  We have wildlife in and around our gardens, including Pine Marten’s feeding on the patio, red and roe deer, barn owls, tawny owls, Golden Eagles, Goshawks and Sea Eagles to name a few!

Our stylish Bunkhouse has a superb social space and offers comfortable, contemporary sleeping quarters for up to 16 guests in 8 separate en-suite rooms, together with shared cooking, eating and lounge facilities.  The incredibly versatile floor plan can be quickly adapted to create a welcoming venue for events, conferences and parties.  A covered courtyard spans the length of the building, capturing the best of the sun and providing additional al fresco space including a games area.
